Spelthorne MP visits APPS
Ashford Park visited by Kwasi Kwarteng, MP for Spelthorne.
Year 6, learnt about the life skills needed to become successful engineers, when Jeremy King, a civil engineer, came to visit on behalf of "Heathrow", to practically demonstrate the skills required to build a new airport terminal!
The experience was made even more memorable, when the Spelthorne Member of Parliament, Mr Kwasi Kwarteng came to visit. Mr Kwarteng encouraged the children to work as teams to create the terminal with the most sustainable design and construction. The popular MP was then treated to a tour of the school where he enjoyed watching the children learn to cook French Madeleines, play the cornet and use the Learn pads, to create animated stories in French about the popular book "The very hungry caterpillar"!
