Inspiring a Love for Lifelong Learning
Celebratory times at APPS
So much to celebrate at APPS throughout 2018 - what a GREAT year for our school!
The past 6 months have certainly been full of celebration at Ashford Park Primary School.
In July 2018 during the last week of the summer term, our school received notification that it had been successful in achieving the GOLD Sportsmark Award, to celebrate the competitive sports opportunities that our school provides.
The 26th September 2018, was a very proud day for our school, as we had the opportunity to work with Ofsted who confirmed the school's self-evaluation that the educational experience that the school provides, remains GOOD. Highlights included:
The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection. You have established a very capable and enthusiastic leadership team. Together, you ensure that high standards are maintained.
Since the last inspection, you have worked tirelessly to secure good progress for pupils across the curriculum, particularly in reading and writing.
Staff are highly motivated and feel valued. As a result, they work hard, provide effective support and ensure that pupils make increasingly strong progress.
The vigilant safeguarding culture that you have established keeps pupils safe and secure.
Parents have very positive attitudes regarding their children’s education and believe that the school is well led.
We are delighted to now inform our community that on the 28th November 2018, we were successful in receiving the prestigious 'Leading Parent Partnership Award'. This is a great achievement, as the award demonstrates how we work in partnership with our parent and carer community to improve the children's outcomes whilst inspiring a love for lifelong learning at our school. Please find just some of the highlights from the final report:
Parents were very positive about engaging with the school:
“The Head Teacher is very proactive with parents. She really wants you to become involved in your child’s learning”.
“The school is very quick at responding to requests from parents”.
“The school is now more proactive about collecting feedback from parents”.
“They care about what we think”.
“We loved coming in to the Sharing our Learning event and sitting with the children. It was packed”. “We liked receiving invitations from our children to attend this event”.
“The Marvellous Me App is a more direct way for teachers to communicate with us. Parents can also be awarded a Marvellous Me award as well”.
