Spring celebration of learning!

In Science, we have been learning about germination and as part of our learning, we observed how runner beans grow over time. The children planted the seeds, cared for them, and made regular observations as the beans began to sprout and grow. They learnt about the conditions plants need to germinate, such as water, warmth, and light, and noticed changes in the roots, shoots, and leaves. This activity helped the children understand how plants grow and develop over time.

In English, we have been reading 'If All The World Were...' by poet Joseph Coelho and discussing how everyone has different perspectives of the world. It ties in with memories and holding our loved ones close to us. Each class sat in a circle and looked through a kaleidoscope with lots of beautiful bright shapes and colours.  We kickstarted this book off by creating our own kaleidoscopes designing it with gems and using questions and statements to write about different nouns such as 'memories', 'space', 'worlds', and 'dreams'.

In Maths the children practised recognising different coins and notes, understanding their values, and sorting them correctly. They used real-life examples and simple activities to help them compare amounts and make totals. This work helped build their confidence and understanding of how money is used in everyday situations.
