Inspiring a Love for Lifelong Learning
Ashford Park 2021 & New to Reception September 2022
If your child was born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018, please be advised that the Surrey County Council school admissions website is available to guide you through the Reception place application process in readiness for school places for September 2022: Apply for a place at a primary, infant or junior school - Surrey County Council (surreycc.gov.uk)
We were delighted to invite a significant number of families for face-to-face Covid secure visits to Ashford Park throughout October, November and January, providing a flavour of just what our school is all about; and THANK YOU for the 224 applications received for our school.
We also hope that the following video which was recorded in 2020, provided a snapshot of our great school:

Please ensure that you attend the Information Evening for parents on 7th July at 6.00pm. We will provide you with more information about your child starting school and you will be given your admission pack.
Please see your individual letter for your class visit appointment between 5th September – 8th September.
We have loved welcoming our Reception children who have settled confidently and happily this September.
In reception at Ashford Park Primary School, our aims are:
- to support children in making a confident transition into school
- to provide a happy, caring and safe learning environment
- to plan learning experiences that meet the individual needs and interests of every child through a balanced provision of adult-led and child-initiated opportunities
- to support children to become confident and competent learners so that they are able to reach their potential
- to provide a broad and balanced high-quality curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidance
- to foster positive home school links with parents and carers
To aid this truly unique transition during these uncertain times of COVID-19, we have a produced several presentations, which will provide you with more information about our school, how the Reception classes 'function', our shared expectations, and hopefully answer many of your questions.

Development Matters in the EYFS is a document that provides Guidance to ensure that we deliver high standards of early education and care that supports the development of every child. These principles underpin all future learning by supporting and fostering the children’s personal, social and emotional wellbeing. It encourages positive attitudes and dispositions towards learning, and promotes learning through play.
