About our school

Ashford Park is a three form entry primary school for children aged four to eleven and is situated at the west end of Ashford, close to Ashford Hospital, Heathrow Airport and the M25, M3, M1 and M40 motorways. As a maintained Surrey school, in January 2015, we were selected to expand and a large building programme commenced, to accommodate the expanding school-aged population of Ashford North. The project involved the construction of nine new classrooms and extensive internal refurbishments. The Published Admission Number (PAN) for each year group, increased from 60 children to 90 children as from September 2015 commencing in the Early Years. Over a seven-year period, the school has gradually grown to a total capacity for 655 children in September 2021.

At Ashford Park we are extremely fortunate to have extensive and well-used grounds and also have a number of therapy animals including Storm and Ozzie our therapy dogs, and Blue & Daisy our therapy assistant rabbits!

I love Storm. When I feel anxious he just makes me laugh, and I can feel myself relaxing!

We couldn't believe it, but when we were having our Christmas lunch, the bunnies had six babies! They were really small, their eyes were closed, but they still had tiny ears and little fluffy tails. Donald and Blue make great parents and I really loved our Christmas surprise.

We are proud to have a specialist centre, called the Acorn Centre, as a fully inclusive part of our school community. Our centre supports the learning needs of COIN children at KS1 and LaN children at KS2. Currently, we have 20 children who receive part of their lifelong learning in our centre and their remaining learning time in their mainstream classes. Due to the popularity and expertise of our SEN provision, the Acorn Centre will be undergoing additional building works in the future. Specialist teachers and teaching assistants support children who have complex special needs and/or disabilities enabling the children to make secure academic progress in a safe setting, whilst developing social skills alongside other children in the school. To gain entry to our centre, the children are selected for their provision through an SEN placement panel and must have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP).
