Our School

Our School

We are extremely proud of our school, our children, our staff and our supportive community.

"All pupils, including the most disadvantaged, are fully included and well cared for.

Pupils and staff are inclusive of others at all times.

The school has a calm and orderly environment where pupils are well behaved and supportive.

This enables all pupils to participate in the school's community and to learn alongside their peers effectively."

About our school

Ashford Park is a three form entry primary school for children aged four to eleven and is situated at the west end of Ashford, close to Ashford Hospital, Heathrow Airport and the M25, M3, M1 and M40 motorways. As a maintained Surrey school, in January 2015, we were selected to expand and a large building programme commenced, to accommodate the expanding school-aged population of Ashford North. The project involved the construction of nine new classrooms and extensive internal refurbishments. The Published Admission Number (PAN) for each year group, increased from 60 children to 90 children as from September 2015 commencing in the Early Years. Over a seven-year period, the school has gradually grown to a total capacity for 655 children in September 2021.

At Ashford Park we are extremely fortunate to have extensive and well-used grounds. In addition, we have two therapy dogs called Storm and Ozzie who the children love to see around the school and for some children positively support them to regulate their emotions.

I love Storm. When I feel anxious he just makes me laugh, and I can feel myself relaxing!"

We are proud to have a specialist centre, called the Acorn Centre, as a fully inclusive part of our school community. Our centre supports the learning needs of COIN children from Reception through to Year 6. Currently, we have 25 children who receive part of their lifelong learning in our centre and their remaining learning time in their mainstream classes. Due to the popularity and expertise of our SEND provision, the Acorn Centre will be undergoing additional building works in the future. Specialist teachers and learning support assistants support children who have complex special needs and/or disabilities enabling the children to make secure academic progress in a safe setting, whilst developing social skills alongside other children in the school.

To gain entry to The Acorn Centre the children are selected for their provision through an SEND placement panel and must have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP).
