At Ashford Park Primary School we endeavour to provide learning opportunities that are meaningful, rewarding, relevant and fun for our children. We strive to offer an excellent educational experience for your child, creating a calm, inclusive, safe, yet stimulating environment. For every child, we aim to provide a love for lifelong learning, through a curriculum that supports each individual to achieve their potential and produce success, with a desire for our children to leave APPS with the knowledge, values and skills to equip them for secondary school and beyond.

The 2014 national curriculum framework states that 'the national curriculum provides pupils with an introduction to the essential knowledge that they need to be educated citizens. It introduces pupils to the best that has been thought and said.' (Department for Education, 2014).
Amanda Spielman (HMCI), when writing about the curriculum in 2018, stated that 'the vast, accumulated wealth of human knowledge, and what we choose to pass on to the next generation through teaching in our schools (the curriculum), must be at the heart of education'.
